Hey everyone, I've been lurking around the boards for the past week and have been reading up on all of the preperation I should do in order to be a great contribution to the Canadian Forces. As of now I haven't filled out my application as I am training at the gym to get in better shape to prepare myself for what I will encounter. I need to shed about 30 pounds in order to be in the right physical shape to keep up with what I would encounter at BMQ. I know in my heart this is what I want to do with my life, for me to not jump on such a great career opportunity as well as doing something as fullfilling as being a member of the Canadian Forces would be foolish in my opinion. I attended the Canadian Forces open house in Oshawa this past Friday and was very impressed with the professionallism exhibited by the members that were there to answer all of my questions. The main concern I expressed to them was that I felt I was not in good enough physical condition to join but I was told that I would be whipped into shape and not to worry. I have decided that I am going to get in better shape though before I even begin the process as I would like to show up and prove that this is what I want and that I am commited. I will try and keep all of you updated on how things are going and look forward to researching more on this site. Thanks for creating such a great forum as it is priceless to hear about experiences from people who are in the Forces already rather than reading a generic description on the Forces.ca website.
