Best we can do is a F150 financed at 29% and a trio of ex wives.
You forgot the Harley…
I sailed with that guy.

I think you have no choice but to contribute until you hit 35 years.Do I have to contribute to the PS pension plan and benefits ? Or can I go on my own ?
We all have…I sailed with that guy.![]()
Correct.I think you have no choice but to contribute until you hit 35 years.
And apparently they also are not, for some.Calm yourself. They already have and are.
And after 35, you contribute at 1% of earnings.I think you have no choice but to contribute until you hit 35 years.
Yes Brad, I know you are disappointed that they won’t be laying off everyone this time. And apparently they also are not, for some.
No Ninjas?You forgot the Harley…
The disappointment is that governments keep finding ways to inflate the costs of hiring, employing, and firing.Yes Brad, I know you are disappointed that they won’t be laying off everyone this time.

The ERI is to help reduce the cost of firing. The disappointment is that governments keep finding ways to inflate the costs of hiring, employing, and firing.
Then they're doing it wrong. Whatever they have done that compels them to do more than give notice (or whatever else the absolute minimum is allowed by law), they should undo - legislation, long strikes, whatever - and proceed from there. There are more pressing uses for federal funds. The ERI is to help reduce the cost of firing.
Laying off is far more expensive.
Ah yes yelling at clouds. Then they're doing it wrong. Sure. Hoping governments will cut costs somewhere in order to do things like keep emerg departments open and reduce the number of OD deaths. Obviously we aren't finding enough resources for those, and various other arguably more important things. I'm just not that sympathetic to the cloud that encompasses "middle class welfare".Ah yes yelling at clouds.
They are cutting things to do other things. It’s the whole point of the exercise.Sure. Hoping governments will cut costs somewhere in order to do things like keep emerg departments open and reduce the number of OD deaths.
You are a bit all over the map here.Obviously we aren't finding enough resources for those, and various other arguably more important things. I'm just not that sympathetic to the cloud that encompasses "middle class welfare".
By which I meant, just give them notice and show them the door. No deals, no pension sweeteners, no voiding of penalties. Give them whatever notice they're entitled to and let them be usefully employed for that time, pay them severance, and let them collect whatever pension they've accrued, subject to penalties if applicable. They are cutting things to do other things. Your opener was “F*. Just lay people off for F* sakes.”
Which leads to a more expensive process. It’s exactly what they are hoping to minimise.By which I meant, just give them notice and show them the door. That is a very positive bit of news.I received an email at work outlining how ERI would be carried out in my agency. I don't qualify under their criteria as it excludes front line personnel because the intent is to grow that part of our workforce.
Time will tell but so far this isn’t looking like a free for all. That is a very positive bit of news.
Sounds like people are thinking about how to cut the admin bloat, rather than the outputs.
