Hey fellow soldier. Im a recent Gunner. Problem is, I really dont like my MOC. School is starting to pile up and I now have a part-time job.

Im in the Canadian Reserves.

I'm thinking of getting out of the reserves because its just too much at this point, but I want to be in the military. I love it, I dont really like the artillery but I love the military lifestyle.

My question is, I still have about a year left of school. Once im done school, I want to go reg force infantry. What should I do? I cant make it to parade nights, because I'm always busy. I've already been on EDNT for 3  months now, because Ive been so busy.

Its come up to the time that I have to either quit the military, or ditch my education.

Is it possible to re-enlist once Im done school? Or will the fact that I was previously in the military make it complicated to do? Or will it be no problem, I dont want to stay reserves once I get out of school. I wanna go Reg Force.

I have another question, I really want to go on tour. If I go reg force, will that be a good possibility for me? Or are most reg force units still training in Canada.

Thank you

Finish school.....the military will always be there.
Kincanucks will be around to hopefully give you more "real" answers....
Moving to recruiting.

I think your best move will be to leave the reserve, finish your school and after look if you are still interested in the army. If you are still interested in the army, infantry is a good place to be to go on tour. Good luck with your school.

So it wont be a problem if I quit now and rejoin the army in a year?

I just figure that would extremely complicate things.

It depends how much time in school you have left. I have a friend with a similar situation, he is applying to go on a exchange, and he asked if he could take six months leave, and they said that there would be no problem, as long as he submitted his leave early enough. good luck, and definitely stay in school.
cheers
