Hello

I am currently 18 years old, I plan to join the Royal Military of Canada once I graduate high school. I am curious as to if there is a signing bonus if you speak any foreign languages?

Say I spoke Chinese? Or Arabic?

Also, from experience, would I be recommended to attend a university prior to joining the forces? Please give reasons as to why, or why not.

Thank you for your time

Just to help you get your terminology straight, we have the Canadian Armed Forces (more usually called the Canadian Forces) as our military service.  There's no Royal Military of Canada.  You may be thinking the Royal Military College, which is the Canadian Forces' university.

In general, if you want to join as an officer then you will require a university degree; if you want to join as a non-commissioned member you will not.  Under some circumstances the Forces will pay for your university education in exchange for a certain number of years of service afterwards.  (See here for more: http://www.army.forces.gc.ca/land-terre/life-vie/joining-enroler/rfop-pfofr-eng.asp)
