Good day,

Sorry going to write a bit but seeking some advice on getting back into the CAF after submitting a VR in BMQ and regretting it.

Went to BMQ (St Jean) in November and ended up submitting a VR week 1 of BMQ. The whole culture shock didn't get to me and to be honest got overwhelmed by it all and to be honest did not mentally prepare myself for BMQ just focused on the physical side of it ended up passing the initial fitness test but it was the mental side I struggled (Sleep schedule, the whole environment was something brand new to me, kept overthinking everything and did not focus on BMQ at all and more at the RegF side after St Jean). Kept being told it's not the same anymore and to take it like a game. Sadly at the time did not listen to it and ended up submitting that VR, worst mistake I've ever made regretted it weeks later. Always have wanted to serve made a lot of people proud who were supporting me going to BMQ when I enlisted felt ashamed not only for them but myself. Anyways was told by a PSO that the Reserves could also be a option down the road. Contacted my Reserve unit in January and said it would be 6 months to re enlist for the PRes and the Year if I want to return to the Mega for RegF.

(It's alright if you want to bash me for quitting BMQ, biggest mistake in my life)

Since I left Quebec things have improved drastically my sleep schedule is a lot better than it was before I enlisted(Writing this a little early in the morning but I am still sleeping in a consistent schedule) and I worked in a kitchen for a month as a line cook where that environment felt a lot similar to BMQ instructors to be honest and the whole thing around timings, but switched over to working at a Hardware store after a lack of hours for the cook job where I currently work, still also continuing to be physically active in the meantime both with my job and personal workouts.

At the current moment I am more leaning to re enlisting into the PRes as I currently applied to go to Uni in the fall with a goal in mind to return to the regular force at some point depending on what happens.

So anyways was informed I am going to basically have to write a paper to Ottawa of what happened and what's going to be different wondering how that process works as I begin to write this paper to be submitted next month when I am eligible to re apply again, and have a few questions.

1. How does the re enrolment paper work is there a certain word limit I should hit and what should I prove with evidence of what's changed?
2. How long can the CAF and Ottawa usually be with these sorts of processes if someone like me has been in a similar situation?
3. What's different about the recruitment process this time (I know PRes is a little different than RegF process)
4. Am I at a disadvantage against other applicants because of my quick VR?
5. Should I wait longer to do the re enrolment paper is 6 months too short and If it gets rejected can I always re apply again?

Hope to hear some advice at all thank you all, still want to serve in the CAF and want to do everything I can to re attempt and pass BMQ.
