Hi. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the following situation:

(1)I am interested in a Navy career
(2)I had enrolled in 2009(reg. Force) as a Boatswain but VR'd.
(3)In 2010 I had reapplied for an officer position but decline the interview as I was informed by my family that we possessed land in BC where they were going to establish a farm(I decided to assist). However, during this year my Grandmother became ill and had to be placed in a home which made the farm plans indefinite so...
(4)I joined the reserves(infantry). Then
(5)I VR'd from the reserves as the farm plan required my not being in the place I was living and I couldn't remain as I was not finished basic. This brings me to the present point in time:
(6)I had informed the admin in the reserves that I was interested in remaining but they intiated the exit process regardless.  I am wondering whether it is possible and if so how probable that I would be accepted again either in the Navy reserves or Reg force.
My work experience and credentials are as follows:
customer service, security, personal training=work experience
high school(B+), B.A(B), personal training cert./CSCS= edu. background.
Should I give up on the military or is it a go?

Figure out what you want...

First from what I have read, regardless of the reasons you are lacking direction in your life and are not coming across as someone who wants to commit himself.  This is my impression and not meant as a slight.

Second if you do decide in a direction that involves the CF then go see a recruiter to get answers to your questions or to start the paperwork.

Third by asking on-line even in this forum it still seems to me as if your sitting on the proverbial fence.

Thanks for the info. I posted on here mainly because I am located in the middle of the bush in Northwestern Ontario away from a recruit centre as I am assisting my Dad in selling his house to get capital to start up the farm in BC with him and my brother. I intend to "give it a go" with the farming venture(mainly to acquire an interest in the land for financial security) and would not apply until this is established. My goal is to have an interesting career. I am mainly interested in finding out what the recruiting situation is at this time re: the navy and what a prospective candidate who has a similar profile to myself would be viewed as: asset, liability, something else...? Circumstances can make decisions impossible sometimes. Since joining the military is a risk I would like to seek to minimize  it through establishing back-up plans.

If you figure out where the RC nearest to you, you could give them a shout and they can answer your questions over the phone, or you could send them an e-mail, or chat with a recruiter. Chat with a recruiter was down last week when I tired it, it may be back up now.

All that info can be found at www.forces.gc.ca
