You don‘t need to impress the recruiter, he needs to impress you.
You DO need to impress the interviewer though. Keep in mind, nearly every recruit who is talking about going infantry wants to be a parareccesniper. They have a tendancy to play those skills down because expecting to get into that stuff may lead to some disapointment later on.
They‘ll probably ask what you want to get into in the interview (the what do you hope to gain from employment with the CAF question) which is a question every interviewer everywhere asks in one way or another (ie. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years?)
It‘s designed to see if you have well established personal goals, and if you understand the realities for potential advancement within your career choice. If you are totally inflexible on this question it‘s a bad thing. Better to use it as a good oportunity to prove that you are prepared to roll with the punches.
