In a year that is seeing unseasonably warm temperatures I would like to remind people that it can also become unseasonably COLD

A friend just emailed me these pics...neat

Were the likes of Al Gore, J Layton and Dion screaming about global cooling then? ;D

In the 70s, the intelligentsia were bleating about the coming ice age, in the 90s it became shrill cries of "global warming", and now it is called "climate change" - so no matter what happens, their collective a$ses are covered either way.

Read "State of Fear" by Michael Crichton.  It's a fictional novel, however, the scientific data is real and global warming is not as huge an issue as people seem to think.  Apparently, the earth has gone through many cycles of warming/cooling as proven by factual (researched) data presented in the book.  Also, a good read!!

Ice ages are indeed natural and very unstoppable. Scientist know this. When the last ice age melted parts of new foundland and large portions of florida were under water.

It does not take too many inches of oceans to rise to put large parts of Florida under water.

That would make Montreal the "Venice of the North".    ;D

I don't know about this whole warming thing.  It's snowing here in Vancouver AGAIN!  :o

Living in  Manitoba and hearing about snow in Vancouver  ==  :crybaby:  ;D

The changes we are experiencing aren't due in any part (or at least in any non-negligible part) to human action. There were mini-"ice ages" and "global warming" in the Middle Ages, and as far as I know knights didn't drive around Europe very much.

It's more an environmentalist's way to bitch about the government and the evil oil empire than any credible threat to the Earth.

You get my sympathy just because you live in Manitoba!   ;D hehehehe

I still have the Weather Network info for Victoria on my desktop.  It is interesting watching how temperatures are similar to Cornwall.  And I couldn't help but chuckle to myself as I saw the Snowfall warning come up this morning for there.  ;D

Well Edmonton and area is on "blizzard warning" for a few days. Woke up to a bunch of snow this morning, more falling, and lots of wind throughout the night. I don't think it's quite my definition of a blizzard, but it's still yucky. Here's hoping our city figures the snow plow thing out sooner than later this time.  :crybaby:

I had an amusing drive into work this morning in Edmonton... It's nice having a Jeep... Popped it into 4x4 for the dodgier parts, turned up the heat and tuned into a good satellite radio channel.. then spent the entire commute dodging stupid drivers. Apparently many traffic laws no longer apply in the snow...

Isn't that the truth. I live downtown and work downtown, so I only commute about 10-15 blocks or so. But I still had idiot drivers cutting me off and driving inbetween lanes! Give me a break, just because you can't see the white lines doesn't mean they are not in the same place they have been the rest of the year.  ::)

Heh, our grass is still GREEN Come on, this is not the normal weather we get here, and we have only had three fairly major snowfalls this winter, with a little one expected tonight.  :crybaby: I don't like it at all

We've had nothing but a dusting of snow, only a couple of days below zero, golf courses still open. I LOVE IT!!! Maybe with the cold, snow, downed power lines, etc out west, we could make bumper stickers "Let the WESTERN bastards freeze in the dark!!" ;D

Hehe, had a nice laugh at the expense of my "smart" car driving, annoying neighbor this morning, as I dropped my Cherokee into 4WD and stopped to chat with him about the virtues of fuel efficiency, RWD and european engineering.

Nothing to humble the miserable lefties like a white out.  ;D

That's okay...you'll get yours....you and your little dog too!  (evil laugh here)  ;D

Ridiculous blizzard in Saskatoon yesterday.  Please, people... DON'T ENTER AN INTERSECTION YOU CAN'T CLEAR!!

Whole city was gridlocked, and if everyone just waited one more light cycle, it would have gone way better.

Global warming my arse!  When is it going to be available in Saskatoon?  Will it be taxed?  What is the US to Canadian conversion  on it?

tlm.
