Replacing the Subs

Sorry for going off-topic but since South Korea's intentions on building Nuke submarines were mentioned earlier I thought I post this South Korean news article that contradicts President Trumps statement that boats would be built in the US.

If SK wants to build them in SK then Trump consider that a double cross and decide to inflict some economic harm on another Allie.

A quick timeline. 3.5 months, including Christmas, which, for the Germans, cuts that down to 3 months effectively.

Willing to bet that our decision will be made at/around the new spring fiscal timeline, so 6 weeks later in mid April after Parliament comes back from Easter break. If so, a decision made by mid-April fits into the stated South Korean timeline of signing a contract in 2026 would result in the first sub by 2032 and 4 subs by the end of 2035.

They have just about 50, last time I looked up the numbers. And that's total numbers, not how many are deployed at any given time.

That is a surprise. Given that Canada has 27/28 I would have thought China has a lot more than 50.

Maybe they aren’t into fling wing ASW
