They likely dont wanna lose their gravy train, because if another ship builder opens up shop, it means they could lose the government contracts.

It will take some of the ability that Irving has to dictate the employee/employer relationship they now essentially monopolize. If Irving can act like adults it could make the whole system stronger and promote economic growth in the province and the municipality.

I have zero faith in Irving acting like adults. Irving does not like competition.

Another point I hope I am wrong on.

Lastly I would love to see the Sub facility expanded to include repair of surface ships as well. If there is one thing we need its more capable ship yard space.
