Should I contact a recruiter?

So currently I am quite overweight, I am currently on a plan where in 8 months to a year I will be in shape enough to do well on physical testing. I am just wondering if it would be worth my time or a recruiters to talk with them and see about any advice or plans they may have, or whether I should just wait until I am ready and then go talk to someone?

Thank you for your interest in the Canadian Armed Forces.

It is never a bad idea to communicate with your local recruiting detachment, if you have questions about a career. Due to most detachment being busy it may be easier to go in person rather then trying over the telephone.
