Soldier Operational Clothing and Equipment Modernization

Just for the record, CCUE and FOCE (Flying Operational Clothing Ensemble) are not projects, ithey are an initiatives.

For the majority of the CAF that distinction dose not mean much, but for those that deal with funding the difference between project and initative means a lot.

Isn’t it redundant though? If someone has a PPCLI cap badge and “PPCLI” on their rank slide, does anyone really need to re-emphasize that they are, in fact, Infantry?

I can sort of understand folks wearing trade badges if their cap badge and wording under their rank is more generic, like HRAs or FSAs who wear the paperclip and “Logistics” under their rank.
Hey mister the world has to know who we are!!!

I looked at this. Interestingly these initiatives are not funded; they have no dedicated assigned funding from DND or the CAF. They are being solely funded by the CA and the RCAF through whatever limited funds can be spared.
Without dedicated funding and multi year commitments the initiatives will be very very slow to roll out. Best estimates are 5 years, more pessimistic ones are 13 years.

The staff seems to be doing everything in their power to get either the CA and RCAF to commit funding if the elements can’t get the centre to.
Don’t know if they are having much traction though, even using GBA+ as a key reason seems to have limited traction.

Have them manufactured in Quebec. They will be issued toot sweet.

As a matter of fact get everything possible for DND sourced from Quebec and Canada will reach 2% of GDP quickly.

I think a lot of defence related companies fingered that out a long time ago.

In other words, pipe dreams.
