AFAIK the Strathconas are the only ones with a riding troop.

AFAIK the Strathconas are the only ones with a riding troop.

And it's fully funded from donations. This is their 2nd time mounting the King's/Queen's Life Guard. They first did it in 2020 for their centennary which also made them the first unit other than the Household Cavalry or the King's Troop to mount the Life Guard. Since then the RCMP have also taken a turn. So as far as non-British units doing it goes, it remains an exclusively Canadian affair, unlike the King's Guard at Buckingham Palace.

The Horse Guards have one as well. I believe they use some of the same facilities as the Toronto Police. I'm not sure if they are the same horses.

The Strats are the only one beyond the Horse Guard in Toronto. They certainly look sharp on parade.
