Switching from Officer to NCM question on pay and rank

The following is based solely on my experience seeing others go the route you've chose. It's not gospel.
Likely, you'll wind up as a A/Cpl. MCpl in most trades is a controlled rank; one needs to be merit listed and there needs to be positions for the career manager to promote, but you should also at least get credit for your JLC equivalent training. Such credit should work to your benefit later. As a training failure, you probably don't have vested rights to pay. IE: your situation is not one that is out of your control.
In short, my opinion only: A/Cpl basic incentive.

And just as easily, he can land up as a no hook Pte, with Pte pay, until such time as he has Time in Rank and a Trade. He will likely not get his PLQ equivalent qualification unless he has completed CAP, and then still has to wait to be meritted for promotion.

I remustered a while back and every one that chose to remuster also chose to take a pay cut. If it's your choice there are no "vested rights" They could have chosen to stay where they were at the rank and pay scale they were at. That being said they were others on course that had to remuster due to their trades being over borne and they kept their pay until they made the same in their new trade.

If it's a voluntary OT, you will take a pay cut to whatever level they give you. In the Army, you will probably get A/Cpl with a PLQ credit IF you are done CAP (I have seen that enough times in the past few years to say that with some authority). That comes with Cpl Basic pay. For the Chairforce and Navy, I do not know if their Ph2 training is considered PLQ equivalent. You have no pay protection under a VOT.
If it is a mandatory OT, usually due to medical situations or Trade related issues (ie overborne), your pay is protected UNTIL SUCH TIME as the pay for your "new" rank surpasses it. Esentially, that means no raises, no incentives for a number of years.

How does anyone get to "act" like a Cpl, when not even QL3 qualified in their trade?

It's the retarded rediculous waste of time because they don't adhere to the standard CAP course. I can say that because they made me take it......didn't learn anything, but I took it. 
I hate wasting time and money. Anyways....
LFDTS states that CAP = PLQ and combined with other "leadership" training officers receive, you get A/Cpl. This year, I know 4 former officers that got the same deal (4 different trades, all Army), last year at least 3 more, same deal. It's the same as if a Death Tech remustered to Egg Welder, keep Cpl rank and pay if you were higher than that.
