Tests and Interview vs application

I'm going to be submitting my application shortly for the Navy Reserves and I was wondering if the tests and interview are put up against all positions available to reservists or only the ones on your application (maximum of 3). I ask this because my short list is almost the entire reserve opportunity list. It would be nice to have my abilities put up against all the jobs available to see if perhaps there is a better fit than one of the positions I put on my application. (My personal choices are between MESO, NCIOP, BOSN, NAVCOMM, RMS CLERK, and SUP TECH)

Thank you for your input.

Hello Kris,

I am assuming your talking about the CFAT and selection interview as part of the process.  The CFAT will assess if you meet the minimum cut score for each of your occupation choices and the interview is designed to assess your fit in those occupations of choice.  If you are successful for any of the occupations of choice and a position is available then you will be offered one of those.  If for some reason you do no meet the eligibility criteria for you occupations of choice, you should be advised to look into occupations available for which you do meet the eligibility criteria.

Cheers

Thank you very much for the information and I will check with those links shortly. I already know from previous aptitude testing that I excel in things like mechanical knowledge and spatial perception. I just want to try to figure out which reserve available option I would be best suited to. I want to be able to do my best so I intend to try my hardest to align my skills with my natural talents. I hold the ability of the CAF to the highest regards and only wish to bring my best to the table when I apply.  :salute:

If you are joining a local NAVRES Unit in your area, then hiring is based on availability of positions within that specific Unit and very little to do with your choices.  Use the link below, search within your current area and then click on the "tab" for Navy Reserve to see just what is available in your area that you can apply for.
