Do you trust those numbers?
7000 in BC?
I’m calling BS on that.
BC is a big place.

Those numbers are surprising.
Surprisingly high.Surprisingly high or low ?
I haven’t checked my spam.Just got another reminder in my email to declare my firearms, with veiled threats of what awaits non-compliance.
Decreasing population 2 years straight.BC is a big place.
Surprisingly high.
Lots of people have/had previously non-restricted firearms like Tavors, AR 180 variants, etc., so the RCMP would have no idea who has them. They just sent an email to everybody with a PAL, to make sure nobody had an excuse if they are caught after 30 Oct with a now prohibited firearm.I received an email from the Queen's Cowboys telling me if I had a naughty gun I had better turn it in.
I don't and I thought they knew where the guns were.
I'm guessing the collections will be done at selected sights, rather than travelling door to door. Based on the email today it seems each registered person will receive an email or link with details for drop-off.I'm waiting to see the structure and composition of these "Mobile Collection Teams" and their SOPs.
Given the now public data breach from the CFP in 2022, what's to say three folks don't show up at your house dressed like cops (that's never happened before) saying they are from a Mobile Collection Team. The take your guns, give you a worthless paper receipt and drive off into the underworld.
any police chief in Canada supporting any door to door on this isn’t for for the job.
My sense is that if your name is on a list and haven’t responded to them, you won’t be able to file for a federal government benefit (GST refund, child care, OAS etc), any online business application, or perhaps not receive an income tax refund or be denied a passport. There’s no end to the misery they can cause without resorting to the police.I dont think you'll see that.
After Oct what ever the number the LPC will declare it a huge success, greatest success ever. And LEOs will have to deal with what ever pops up in their calls.

You're likely right, generally. However, there will probably be folks with no way to get their firearms to a collection point who will need them picked up.I'm guessing the collections will be done at selected sights, rather than travelling door to door. Based on the email today it seems each registered person will receive an email or link with details for drop-off.
Maybe there is some hope for Canada.Meanwhile, in Quebec City this weekend ....
I'm a bit surprised to see Quebec as the site of enough of a rally to merit Canadian Press wire service attention.![]()
Rally against federal gun prohibitions, buyback planned for Saturday in Quebec City
OTTAWA — People opposed to the federal government's firearms ban and compensation program are planning a rally Saturday in Quebec City to accuse Ottawa of unfairly singling out law-abiding gun owners.www.guelphtoday.com
