The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

Based on what?

How many of the owners are urban/suburban shooters who do it for fun rather than die-hard gun rights people making a stand?
I’ll bet almost all B.C. owners of restricted and prohibited subject to the ban are dyed in the wool traditional conservatives or libertarians. Unlikely - very unlikely - to give anything to the government. Certainly not to the tune of 7000.
Could be - maybe - senior citizens who won’t use them again and really need the money.
But nobody should trust the federal government and especially that part of the federal government in this issue.

When I lived in Victoria there were plenty of people who had cool NR guns that had them for fun out at Vic Fish and Game, other ranges in the area, or the local crown land shooting spots, but weren't what you would consider "dyed in the wool traditional conservatives"... On the contrary, many were pretty centre/left leaning people who happened to like guns, but guns didn't define their politics.

It's easy to assume that what you have personally experienced is a universal truth, but often times it isn't. BC has the lower mainland, and Vancouver Island, that are full of lots of centre/left leaning people. It's not hard to imagine that 7K firearms were registered by those people in those two locations alone.

Or pragmatic fuddish type with 1-2 PCC's or budget AR's that were essentially novelty safequeens prior to the ban?

Just got another reminder in my email to declare my firearms, with veiled threats of what awaits non-compliance.
I haven’t checked my spam.
BC is a big place.
Decreasing population 2 years straight.
Once out of the lower mainland and Vancouver coastal regions, it’s a very dark blue and Conservative region. Very hostile to Victoria and Ottawa.
