The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

Just got another reminder in my email to declare my firearms, with veiled threats of what awaits non-compliance.
I haven’t checked my spam.
BC is a big place.
Decreasing population 2 years straight.
Once out of the lower mainland and Vancouver coastal regions, it’s a very dark blue and Conservative region. Very hostile to Victoria and Ottawa.

I received an email from the Queen's Cowboys telling me if I had a naughty gun I had better turn it in.

I don't and I thought they knew where the guns were.
Lots of people have/had previously non-restricted firearms like Tavors, AR 180 variants, etc., so the RCMP would have no idea who has them. They just sent an email to everybody with a PAL, to make sure nobody had an excuse if they are caught after 30 Oct with a now prohibited firearm.

I'm guessing the email is because they are seeing very few of the previously NR rifles in the registration for compensation.

I'm waiting to see the structure and composition of these "Mobile Collection Teams" and their SOPs.

Given the now public data breach from the CFP in 2022, what's to say three folks don't show up at your house dressed like cops (that's never happened before) saying they are from a Mobile Collection Team. The take your guns, give you a worthless paper receipt and drive off into the underworld.

I'm guessing the collections will be done at selected sights, rather than travelling door to door. Based on the email today it seems each registered person will receive an email or link with details for drop-off.

I dont think you'll see that.

After Oct what ever the number the LPC will declare it a huge success, greatest success ever. And LEOs will have to deal with what ever pops up in their calls.
My sense is that if your name is on a list and haven’t responded to them, you won’t be able to file for a federal government benefit (GST refund, child care, OAS etc), any online business application, or perhaps not receive an income tax refund or be denied a passport. There’s no end to the misery they can cause without resorting to the police.

You're likely right, generally. However, there will probably be folks with no way to get their firearms to a collection point who will need them picked up.

And nobody has ever fallen for a scam before, right?

I'm a bit surprised to see Quebec as the site of enough of a rally to merit Canadian Press wire service attention.

Maybe there is some hope for Canada.

Maybe there is some hope for Canada.

Our only hope is a Conservative strong majority and the willingness to walk back the clock.

And that doesn't look like its anywhere near here or horizon.

Whats next will be further attacks from the LPC on our community once they deem

And the Law of Unintended Consequences has reared it's ugly head.

CCFR is reporting that they have been contacted by deployed and OUTCAN CAF members who cannot use the ASFCP portal from where they are. Some will not be back in Canada before registration closes and therefore cannot apply for compensation, nor register their firearms for eventual collection.

It'll be interesting to see how various chains of command respond to this.
