The War in Ukraine

Trump: “if I think it was Russia’s fault — which it might not be — but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia.”

If? Might not be Russia’s fault? At least even a stupid clock can occasionally take decisions that go in the right direction … but I’d advocate a total embargo instead of secondary tariffs.

And this is the reason

That goes to the heart of Trump's self-image as the ultimate deal maker.

It's one thing to claim that the war would never have started if he had still been President in 2022. It is quite another thing to claim that he could stop the war in 24 hours and then, 63 days into that 24 hour clock have the Russians say it is going to take more than a year.

Vlad had his 3 day Special Military Operation 3 years ago.
Donald is staring a 1 day negotiation continuing for more than a year.

....

And he, Donald, has spent a lot of political capital chasing his 24 hour success.

For those that are interested in numbers regarding wheels and treads. Big update, and it's not looking too hot for Russia.

..."equipment graveyards" have begun to be sorted out ... [indictaes a] depletion of available suitable stocks at storage bases to replenish losses.

Winter images from ... 2024/25, tracks in the snow, and other observation ... [show] an almost complete absence of movement in the area of covered storage areas (i.e. near hangars).

A lot of the major twitter channels that monitor russia stocks have come to the same conclusion, most of whats left is likely being stripped for parts due to poor condition of the hulls.

What would be a WAG of the timeline that Ukraine would need if they started on 6 Nov in putting together some type battlefield or further out nuclear device?

Could they be playing for time right now in the peace talks?
Honestly I would be surprised if they only just started on November 6, 2024. This is a development by Ukraine that I support as much or maybe even more than anything else, although where they test it could be a shit show. Gulf of Mexico maybe.

With several countries signaling their intention of leaving the Ottawa treaty, Ukraine's use of drones to covertly plant mines may be a peek into the future on how they may be used.

China turning blind eye to its citizens fighting in Ukraine, says Zelenskyy

Ukraine’s president says at least 155 fighters have been uncovered, and that Russia is recruiting via social media

Russia was seeking to recruit Chinese fighters by openly advertising on TikTok and other Chinese social networks, Zelenskyy said, arguing that “Beijing is aware of this”. They then travelled to Russia, typically Moscow, where they were first given medical examination over a three- to four-day period, he added.

The recruits are then given one or two months of training and asked to fight on occupied Ukrainian territory. They received official migration cards from the Russian authorities and were given access to an official payment system to receive money, Zelenskyy said.
