Thinking Of Joining.....Advice helpful

Hello everyone i hope your well.

I have recently been up to the Army careers office to discuss the possibility of joining the army. I will be taking my BARB test on Tuesday and if everything goes ok then i should be in basic training with any luck in April. I did look at going into the Army when i was 16 but decided against it due to some family reasons. If i am to go into the Army i have no intention in combat, I'm looking to do something like farrier, MP, Logistics etc, my Barb test I'm sure will help me to see whats for me.

Anyway what i was wondering is, has anyone who just started the army or someone who is experienced can share his/her thoughts about basic training, after basic training, what the officers are like, what Accommodation is like(is it as bad as said on the news?) etc etc....anything that can help me really.

I can tell you that even though you have no intention of combat it doesn't always work out like that. They need logistics personel in Afghanistan just as much as they need Infantry, Artillery, Armour or Engineers. Same goes with MP's.
Welcome to the site, I would advise on doing a lot of reading, trade FAQ's, threads that seem to interest you, things of that nature. It certainly helps to be educated as to what you're in for.
