whilst I can see the likelihood of a leadership change, I find it difficult to imagine them changing directions politically. There are too many with whacko beliefs. You won't get the environment minister to reverse course even a little bit, for exampleYou’d be surprised.
Lots of people might vote liberal if Trudeau is gone. I certainly can’t see myself voting for him. But that could change with different leadership and direction.
also implies the presence of someone bright enough to work through such a scenario. I doubt that Justin fits that definitionI doubt that JTs messianic complex would allow for that scenario.
hasn't happened in Ontario yetI think much of the Liberals’ current unpopularity is solely based on Trudeau’s unpopularity. If he leaves, I expect to see a lot of the Liberals’ support to come back, no matter who they pick for leader.
There is still a lot of mythology that they are “centrist” by the majority of voters who don’t pay attention to politics.

As a US Governor he gets paid in USD.With the exchange rate currently like it is?
A bit of irony in Trudeau hiding out in the USA…
That we've heard out loud so far.
Oh, I meant "more of" for sure. Mind you, with Trump at the helm in the south, and PP at the helm here, there'll be past management on both sides to blame, but just warning to be careful what one wishes for.
Maybe over time, but it would depend how much time would be available. I can't find it at my fingertips, but I've seen polling showing party fortunes continuing to stay low even if PMJT scoots.
As for current polling, this almost literally hot off the presses ...
Most Canadians have heard about Freeland's resignation from Trudeau cabinet, new poll finds

I think the guy is a dickhead, and should quit the PM role, but this nickle and diming of the PM and GG is silly and petty. The fact that no one wants to spend money on the official residence so it's now a condemned hole is pretty embarrassing.I'm hearing JT has fled, err, I mean gone on vacation in Hawaii...

With a job like that, they should get regular vacations, and it will cost the taxpayer for security etc, but that's just part of the gig. I personally don't want the leader of our country to burn out, and this is pretty weird crab barreling. I can't stand PP, but would have no issue with him doing the same as PM and taking vacations somewhere warm in the winter, because lets face it the cold can suck.
Hopefully he comes back refreshed and pulls the plug on his lame duck leadership, but why begrudge anyone a vacation?
