Trump administration 2024-2028

I just personally verified this is a 100% real post tonight. He’s having a normal one.

I am fully aware they probably gave him the red lightsaber because Republicans, but it's still funny knowing who always has the red ones in Star Wars media. What makes it absolutely hilarious is that this is going to live forever in the Library of Congress.

For those not up to date on the canon:

Well, I’m not much of a Christian, but I don’t see a lot of solid theology in what she’s, literally, selling.

I’ll leave to theologians to call her a heretic, but having seen her on TV, she’s either a not very good con-artist or a loon.

So now I’m confused. Is he a Catholic or a Sith?

I wonder if 'The Donald' knows about Ayn Rand? ;)

We have now arrived at the part where American produced movies being made outside of the US are a national security threat.

I didn't have long to wait.

. . . Just look at the number of American productions that are filmed in Canada. Over the past several decades, they've come North attracted by favourable exchange rates, lower wages and government tax credits and that has helped develop a Canadian film and TV industry. But it is an industry that, at present, is tied to the Americans just like auto manufacturing. I'm awaiting for the White House funny farm to come out with tariffs that will try to force more Hollywood and less Hollywood North.

It's important to remember that generally speaking, our conservatives are actually to the left of the Democrats, so very much and apples to oranges comparison.
How do you figure?

The Democrats are/were all for DEI, massive government censorship, out of control spending, etc

Our Conservatives are generally opposed to DEI, much reduced spending.

I don't see our Conservatives as 'more left than Democrats' in any of the key areas that define the 'left'

(But I'm certainly open to that being a possibility, I just don't see it as the case personally)

No more Hallmark movies in the Canadian Rockies?

Is that about the economy, or is this about controlling what people watch?

The film industry generates a couple billion a year in economic output in BC, and supports 25,000 jobs. This could hurt.

If there's any upside it's the fact that the industry comes and goes, usually following the exchange rate and tax regimes, so it's used to periods of decline in Canada..

Wonder if this includes direct to TV, or if it is just about things going to theatres.
