Trump administration 2024-2028

Considering this is coming from a conservative newspaper it doesn't bode well for him. Not really refuting the rumor last week that he will be the first of the current cabinet to get the boot, either.

Returning the survivors of the latest strike is really making it seem like it might have very well been a random boat (which also brings into question of the validity of the other strikes), and not of the criminal variety.

Survivors of military strike on alleged drug boat will be returned to home countries, Trump says

Ecuador has released their survivor without charge.

I find it very odd that that kind of massive and costly kind of renovation to the White House can just be done on the presidents say so without any kind of oversight from other stakeholders such as Congress or the GAO I believe its called or some other oversight body.
The White House and grounds is under the stewardship of the US National Parks Service. Since the NPS is part of the Department of the Interior which is headed by a Trump appointee, all is completely above board (ish).

Very satisfying to see some of these people like Brennen and Bolton being held accountable.

Yes its MSNBC but this is pretty damning editorial.

Yep. Going to see more of that. The decline continues sadly.
Its not so much a 'decline' but the reality of 1.4 billion people vs 325 million people. As soon as you move 1.4 billion to have a net worth greater than 25% of the 330 million, one eventually takes over from the other.

And yet they accelerate it through their recidivist policies. The power of influence of those 325 million though has been eroded and keeps eroding mostly through self inflicted wounds.

Don’t look at it as 1.4 billion vs 325 million. It’s more like 1.2 Billion for the western world and then you can add many more non western but aligned countries. The leader and power behind that western world: the US like Rome was behind the Roman Empire is receding and slowly ceding its place.

Hysteria from the crazy anti American wing. Fiction. As is most reporting on Trump. And millions and millions of voters see that.

Judging by the morose and hysterical rhetoric that has emanated from the Democratic Party and its ideological allies during the past couple of days, one might have thought that President Trump had announced his intention to send a squadron of B-2 bombers across the Potomac to completely level Washington, D.C. Having shared a carefully cropped photograph of construction at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, California’s governor, Gavin Newsom, complained yesterday evening that, by making his well-publicized changes to the East Wing, Donald Trump is “literally destroying the White House.” In no less an indignant tone, former First Lady Hillary Clinton agreed, griping that “it’s not his house. It’s your house. And he’s destroying it.” Elsewhere, Kennedy scion Maria Shriver confessed that the project “breaks my heart and it infuriates me,” while The Bulwark’s Jonathan V. Last insisted that “razing the Trump ballroom and restoring the White House to pre-Trump status is non-negotiable.” In the usual circles, the usual suspects were thrilled to agree.

Of all the reasons to criticize President Trump, this must count as the silliest. Often, Trump deserves the opprobrium that is cast his way. Here, he most decidedly does not. This, to put it plainly, is a non-story, a freakout, a fiction spun from whole cloth. There is not a grain of truth here, but a vacuum. Trump is replacing a handful of office buildings with a ballroom. That’s it. No more, and no less

That is fucking criminal.
US restaurant rely on tipping culture to pay their employees instead of them. Fun fact tipping culture actually originates from post slavery as a way not to pay black employee's because they worked for "tips" which was still a wage. Tipping in general I think needs to die, its an excuse not to pay people proper wages, and in my time as a chef I told many perspective employers to pound sand when they said part of my wage was tips (example offered $17/h but 3/h was from trips and not guaranteed), rules around tipping are even more lax in the US, and owners and managers taking the tips for them selves is common practice.
