Trump administration 2024-2028

Sauve, principled, outsider who is simultaneously wealthy (self-made of course) and a man of the people, that is successful at everything he touches?

The role is clearly cast.
Man, as much as I like Harrison Ford and his portrayal of Ryan, he just can’t beat out Alec Baldwin.

I may need to watch Red October this weekend.

A. Damn- my joke was about DJT's image of himself and being a self insert

B. Snooty nose turn- none of the movies do the books justice.

As much as a movie can do a book justice, I think Red October does. Agreed on the rest.

“Golden Fleet” lol.

Kingdom of Spain also had a Golden Fleet.

Also the CNO in a leather jacket has some sort of weird Darth Vader bdsm esque vibe to it. These people are getting weirder to the day.

Kind of ‘Top Gun’ vibe in the leather coat.

The Dear Leader-ification of our neighbor continues.

And this was the only other thing of note from last night, other than the $1776 bonus.

TrumpRx , I’m guessing Trump is giving himself a commission on every prescription.

May or may not require it's own thread as people and organizations start sorting through them.
The "old photos of Trump are evidence of questionable habits with children" crowd is having a hard time coping with the (many more) old photos of Clinton.

My prior assessment was that people with incentives to find dirt on Trump and with access to the documents have already combed through the documents for years and we've already seen the highlights (such as they were), and that releasing more info would end up casting mud in places the critics probably don't want to see any mud.

Now we're getting a dump of highlights from Trump's DoJ.

From here on in, future revelations will become increasingly less interesting because they won't involve current or former US presidents.

Predictable and predicted.

There is a reason why Republicans and Democrats didn’t want it released. The push to release only came once one side decided that the benefit was greater than the cost.

Democrats, maybe. Republicans had all the same information and knew there was nothing there to really burn Trump. For them it was not about cost/benefit so much as "Fuck it, they want it, give it to them and let them eat it", and, that it would put an end to freestyle speculation.

The freedom to speculate at will about a political scandal is much more politically valuable than the facts. The Democrats were dogs chasing a car; this time, they caught it.

On Thursday afternoon, the board of the Kennedy Center announced it had voted to rename the cultural institution the “The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.” By Friday morning a wholesale rebranding effort was underway, aided by construction workers on aerial lifts, adding the president’s name to the building’s exterior.

The organization’s leaders might have wanted a new website to replace kennedy-center.org, too. But if they’d hoped for trumpkennedycenter.org, they were out of luck. A comedian bought it months ago.

“As soon as Trump began gutting the Kennedy Center board earlier this year, I thought, ‘Yep, that name’s going on the building,’” explains Toby Morton, a comedy writer with “South Park” and “Mad TV” credits who buys political domains and turns them into satirical websites as a form of activism. All year, Morton followed news of Trump’s takeover of the institution - how the president purged many of its existing board members, replaced them with loyalists, then announced plans to personally host the Kennedy Center Honors - and in August he snapped up the rights to both trumpkennedycenter.org and trumpkennedycenter.com.
Not all heroes wear capes.

Let them take it to court and argue that a 30 day deadline was reasonable for all the documents to be vetted for necessary privacy redactions. "Unclassified" doesn't mean "nothing of consequence".
It probably would have been reasonable if they hadn't spent all that time redacting things that shouldn't have been redacted.
