In a lot of ways it is. Trump has courted a number of different groups to gain his support. Some denominations support him more than others.

There has been an 8-percentage point drop since early 2025 in the share of White evangelicals who support all or most of Trump’s plans and policies.
I think that sort of evangelism in the IS is as much cultural as it is religious, and to be blunt, the purported religious values seem very flexible in order to conform to the culture. It is what it is.
