Trump administration 2024-2028

Fraud, or just 'the way we do things around here'? ;)

Rubio refuses to comment on Kimberly Guilfoyle credit card allegations

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday flatly refused to comment on a new report alleging that U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle engaged in improper and possibly illegal conduct before taking up her post.

Rubio told reporters that he would not discuss the allegations contained in a Wall Street Journal story that said Guilfoyle had asked a donor and supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump to pay a US$100,000 credit card bill just before her confirmation hearing, promising him access to administration officials if he did.

He spoke before leaving Greece, where he delivered a speech calling for European countries to return to what he described as their civilizational roots.

Rubio said he was aware of The Wall Street Journal’s report, which was published late Wednesday, but had no idea if it was true and he would not address it.

“You guys walk around thinking that because some source told you something and you reported it, it’s the gospel. It’s not the gospel. It’s not the gospel for me. That’s not the way we do things,” he said at the foot of his plane as Guilfoyle, who was there to see him depart Greece, looked on.

Wouldn’t want to be a staffer inside the White House today.

That's it. Tariffs on South Africa. They're very nasty people.

Just checked RCP on US poll numbers.

The Republicans are facing s loss of control of the Senate, the House and some Governors.

But typically means a swing of 3 or 4 seats in a 50:50 map.

The vast majority of the country is still backing the horse they rode in on.

And that suggests to me that Trump still has a fan base and that radical changes are not desired.

In view of the economic and fiscal turmoil, active warfare against Iran, and Trump's generally offensive behaviour, it's remarkable that the probable results are so close. The US probably leans much more conservative (Republican) than is apparent right now.

Saw this in the Iran thread regarding 25th Amendment,

What if USA Team Red loses the Midterms?

Any chance they might declare voter fraud , supporters attack , refuse to accept results, FBI seizes ballots and voting machines, results get cancelled in lost Districts, protests erupt, troops deploy under Insurection Act, Congress refuses to seat Democrats?
They keep mentioning Canada is interfering or shoukdnt interfere in their elections. Im getting concerned we'll be the scapegoat to fuck with the midterms.
