U.S. Annexing Canada (split fm Liberal Minority thread)

Hey! I have a small Canadian flag sticker on the lower back corner of all my vehicles.

I don't consider myself a moron.

Maybe moronic was a bit harsh. Silly. It's silly to put stickers on vehicles. At least keep it off the paint work if you are.

I have a “Save the Manuals” sticker with a 6-speed manual drive on it. Some people ask if my car is actually a manual transmission, to which I say “why would I have that sticker if it wasn’t?”

Manual transmissions are the best anti-theft device.

Good response on his part. People are not interested in being rolled over despite the Trump cheerleaders.
More end-of-year interviews with PP, covering the same ground and general talking points/future approach, in French. At least one commentator I've heard say he's pretty good in these, too. First one's about 10 minutes, YT video is about 26 minutes.

Despite disliking him I can get on board with his position on this.

Canada is ungovernable as DJT would soon discover. We can’t govern ourselves and I pity the poor foreign fool who thinks they can

Canada certainly isn’t it good shape right now. On the other hand, we’ll see how governable the U.S. is with all its factions. Maybe the Americans should give up their independence and revert to the King’s rule.

Baby steps..We are getting you there
I can always set aside my personal dislikes and biases if I recognize the value of a position or policy good or bad. I’ve mentioned this before, I am undecided but leaning on an option that likely has no chance for now. Campaigns matter for me though.

There is only one time in my life where emotion was my primary motivator for voting against someone and it was provincially. It didn’t matter what the platforms were and it didn’t matter how good or bad the incumbent was, they weren’t getting my vote that time.

Emotion will likely not factor in this upcoming election.

When terrible government policies fuck with my personal life, I get very emotional.

Case in point, the last year of Wynne's disaster in Ontario, my monthly Hydro bill was $450-600 a month. It was ridiculous. Ford beats Wynne's ass in the only polls that matter and boom, a month later, Hydro bill was down to $200-250 a month. I am not even 100% sure the details but Ford promised cheaper Hydro. And beer.

Now Trudeau policies have caused an across the board massive spiking of everything cost while tanking the economy primarily because he won't use our natural resources and chases pipe dreams like EVs and wind energy.

That gets people very emotional when they are 45 years old and moving into Mom's house with a family or a parent who eats a meal once every two days so her children can eat 1-2 meals a day because "we must fight climate change..." That makes people say F Trudeau an get emotional

I generally don’t question what motivates people to vote the way they do. I certainly don’t bemoan their choices.

I voted several times against that gvt. The green energy plan was terrible policy.

I’ll disagree on what has caused those things but I don’t think he’s done much to mitigate those causes.

See my first point.

Ford got those prices down by putting the debt on our children. He spends over 6 billion dollars a year to reduce our bills.

The problem with electricity is if it’s poorly managed it takes decades for the contracts to get resolved. There is no quick fix, your stuck with 30-50 year contracts.

I am getting tired of generational greed and passing the buck on to the next one, we are such a selfish shortsighted society it isn’t even funny.

Interest on debt is our number one budgetary line, thats the result of decades of mismanagement and greed. This last 9 years has been a real disaster in particular and we don’t even have anything to show for it.
