I suppose ther could be many reasons for and against combats. I wish to carry the hought of civvies looking at the professional soldier and seeing something other than and olive drab "bag". Know nothing civilians are impressed by bells and whistles. There is something to be said about wearing colourful ranks badges, unit badges and the MEDALS you have earned. Some of you the hard way. When you are out nd about amidst the impressionable civilians you have nothing to show unless you are in your DEU‘s. That to me is a rather boring sad picture. I don‘t know what the solution might be but that‘s my nickles worth.
