There is a range of mountains in the Rockies known as the Victoria Cross Range. Six of the 17 peaks have been named after VC recipients, all with some connection to Alberta, the province in which the range of mountains lies.

Would it not be wonderful if we could have mountain peaks named after ALL VC recipients, in the range or close by.

I know it would take a lot of lobbying, but are there not enough of us to form a victory campaign?

:salute:

Don't the mountains already have names?

And why name mountains for people that never even lived near them?  Sounds pretty hare-brained, frankly.

But if the VC winner served with a Cdn unit - not doing so sounds hair brained

you have to face the fact that pretty much all mountains in Canada already have been given a name.
Not that long ago, someone decided to name a mountain after PET.
Rightfuly so - people objected for the specific reason I started with.......

If you can find a range of mountains that are only numbered... give us a call.
