what to send in overseas packages

My apologies for not being more computer literate but I did a search and could not find what I was looking for.  A while back, people were posting ideas for putting together packages going to troops in Afghanistan.  Our ANAVETS group will be sending packages over and need some ideas.  If someone could point me in the right direction, I would be grateful.  I guess it's hard to teach this old dog new t ricks when it comes to this computer stuff.......wish muskrat was closeby to tutor me  ;D  Thank you.

I received an email from one of the girls today - a few weeks back I sent a plug in "air freshener" she loved it....and has requested more along with the type she usually uses at home - the "liquid" Wick ones that can be vented.  As those of us know, the smell over there is TERRIBLE - Just a thought
