Hey,

I am looking for a ball cap from the first tour to Afghanistan in 2002.  It says "Task Force Rakasann Khandahar Afghanistan" on the back, has a Canadian and American flag on either side and has a symbol on the front....I am looking for it in the tan color?!

Does anyone know where I can locate one?!

I know where you can find two in the tan colour but sorry I don't intend to give a way or sell either one. ;D

WEll thanks...I have a black one but am looking for the tan colored one for my husband.  Our dog ate it:P

have you tried E-Bay or the PPCLI Kitshop?

They used to sell them in Wainwrights kitshop and I phoned the other day as I was doing some work in the area and they did not know what I was talking about.

I am still looking though.  I'll have to see if they have em overseas or not?!

Thanks for the help.

Elisha,

As 2Cdo said, those of is who earned the ballcap are unlikely to part with one.  Which is why I doubt very much that you will find them for sale on eBay.  There weren't all that many made in the first place, and I don't know of any surplus stocks remaining for sale.  I'm at 3 VP, and there are none for sale in the unit canteen.

You best bet for a decent replacement will likely be the cap sold by Joe Drouin Enterprises / The Airborne Kit-Shop.  He stocks a limited selection of Op Apollo/Rakkasans ball-caps, T-shirts and coins.  The cap isn't exactly the same as the tour original, but it is as close as you are likely to find.  Here are the links:

Home Page (with ordering instructions):  http://www.joedrouin.com/

Rakkasans Merchandise:  http://www.joedrouin.com/rakkasans.htm

If you scroll down to the bottom of the merchandise page you will see the tan ballcap.  The only difference from the cap you are trying to replace is that it says "Rakkasan" on the back, rather than "Task Force Rakkasan Kandahar Afghanistan".  The flags and Torri symbol are the same as the original.

You can order from Joe Drouin with absolute confidence.  I have ordered via e-mail in the past and have always received the goods in a very efficient manner.  Not to mention the fact that Joe and his Wife are a genuine pleasure to deal with.

Cheers,

Hey,

Thanks for the response.  I do have the black one in hand and I will take a look at that website.  Thank you so very much for the link.  My husband had an 'unfortunate' accident with his and our puppy....not very happy to say the very least.  Needless to say he keeps the black one close to him at all times and far beyond the reach of anyone.

But I still will look for the original around.  My husband did at one time say that he saw them for sale in Wainwright a while back but maybe he was wrong.

Thanks again,
Elisha
