The War in Ukraine

the A-50s are reported to have been non operational unfortunately

the OSINT storage guys have publicized their account of Russias stored equipment again

251 decent tanks left , 109 of which T62s
I don’t have a source on the rely I saw
But apparently one of the online OSINT nerds identified that one of the A-50s moved recently and the other one is believed to be one that was damaged in recent memory.

Would it be reasonable for a serviceable and operational aircraft to go through some maintenance downtime that includes removing the engines?

Following on that: I cannot vouch for the accuracy of this but it’s a start point for people more knowledgeable than I.

Ukraine: We've hit 41 strategic aircraft—including Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 bombers

Russia: It's just a scratch...It'll buff out

The Russians have a different definition of "airworthy" than the rest of us.

Interesting read on the possible reason as to why Russia is having much difficulty building large quantities of certain types of drones.

As for what might have been hit in Bryansk tonight, cookoffs are still happening.

Engines off for more than 24-48 hrs and it’s likely a non-op tail being robbed. In the vids/pictures, one of the A-50s seems to have been a rob aircraft, but that still reduces the avail parts to keep the others going. I’ve lost count, but I think they only have 3 operational A-50s remaining. I’ll try to get firmer numbers on the A-50s, but those aircraft are like hens’ teeth…more important than even the Tu-160s I’d say.

2-3 A-50's are OS verifiable to be operational (I believe 3, but the image quality isn't the best to see tail numbers).
The Russians cannot repair subsystems on the 50's either -- so they will self divest even without anymore Ukrainian help now.

Russia is now using the Tu-160's for hitting Ukraine conventionally - so you know the Tu-95 and 22 losses are hurting them.
