Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

Mark wiseman to be the next US ambassador, seems like a solid choice

He’s certainly got a solid finance pedigree, and has worked at senior levels for multiple large investment funds. This guy will be able to talk business, and big deals, as well as international macroeconomics. PM Carney will probably be able to delegate trade negotiations to him quite effectively.

Then why are the BQ up in arms against this appointment. Wonder what he did to piss them off so much, corrected someone's Quebecois French with Parisian French?
He’s very pro-immigration, from an economics standpoint. To the extent that he’s said we need substantially higher immigration over the rest of the century, and Quebec’s dislike of the notion be damned.

If he were being named immigration minister or something it would be more concerning, but as ambassador to the U.S. that’ll largely be out of his arcs.

Angus Reid is about as trust worthy and reliable as the cbc to be impartial.
They were reporting Team Blue leading after PP got chosen as leader like the rest of the polling pack, so unless you have evidence showing some clear bias compared to other firms, I’m good seeing them as one data point in a sea of pollsters of all kinds.

Poilievre is supposed to be pretty intelligent, but I wonder if he can grasp more than abstractly that the most useful people in politics are not careerists who like to play incessant political gotcha games and are obsessed with intricate parliamentary procedural manoeuvres. It would be so easy for the CPC to be the natural home of "serious people"
Well put.
on matters of money and infrastructure. Can there be anyone at all that he trusts advising him how bad his instincts are?
Supplementary questions, given there’s gotta be brains & talent about (including his new campaign manager, who sounds like a true believer who’s been willing to work with others in different jersey colours): will PP listen, and if he hears what’s said, will he do it?

My thoughts (for those who give a shit about my opinion, which is what we all have when it comes to politics)

The Michael Ma crossing the floor. A blind side move for sure. A sting in the Conservative arm pit for sure. NOT the great step forward that many pro-Liberals think it is.

"Armyrick, your showing your partisan views blah blah blah long winded bullshit" Yeah we get it. Settle down. This is a serious threat to Pierre for sure.

If and thats a big IF Mark carney secures his dirty majority, I believe Pierre is toast the leadership review. Like gonzo. If that happens, I will be the first to say "Mr Poilievre, thank you for your service to the nation, but enjoy retirement and please stay the fuck out of our way".

So IF, big IF we go down that route, Liberals, whoever replaces Pierre, I promise you will not get some some "moderate" small c conservative leader (in other words a fucking weak POS that the liberals can gang bang politically).

Your going to receive a liberal smashing MF-er thats really gonna go to town on you clowns. A Larry Brock/Aaron Gunn/Roman Baber/Melissa Lantsman/Michael Cooper/Garnett Genius/Michael Barret/Michelle RG/Its a long list, Libs is going to come in behind Pierre. You thought you saw "anger" in Pierre? Buckle the fuck up, buttercup, the replacement going to make you cry. When it is done, the Liberals will be begging for Pierre back like they do with Long gone O'Toole.

As for Michael Ma? Thats really a dirty look, trash talking the Liberals, then talk to the CCP behind close doors then a day or two later, suddenly embracing the very same party you decried only a few days prior? Yeah, Liberal or Conservative, good luck on your re-election. That baggage will follow you like catshit stuck to a shoe.

Liberals, Pierre has a challenge for sure. Do you think the hard left, Trudeau era is tickled with him? Not at all, sweethearts. Nathan Erskine-Smith has all but called him an asshole publicly. Guibeault is really pissed with him (and fuck yes, I like watching Guibeault get into a big huff) but keep in mind, he brings a chunk of Quebec with him, if he stays or he leaves. Think about it.

Gary A is a national embarrassment, Melanie Joly has no clue what she is talking about and Lena Diab is freaking useless as an immigration minister.

Steve McKinnon rants and bellowing have already worn out their welcome, kids.

The issues the Conservatives STILL own and have become a major problem again, Crime, housing, controlled immigration (translate REDUCE it) and energy industry. This is pro-liberal pollsters saying the CPC owns these issues. Trump was a "get-out-jail" card you get to use once, and only once.

I said it before and I'll say it again, so many defended Trudeau to the bitter end and now he is a Katy Perry footnote level of irrelevance.

I don’t want ‘anger’ or ‘begging’ or ‘catshit’.
I want a Leader who leads the country and all its people - Liberal or Conservative- Conservative or Liberal - I don’t want some angry, vindictive, bitter, divisive individual as you seem to suggest.

Angry? Thats a given. Bitter? Sure, whatever. Vindictive? Not nearly as bad as Canadians are going to take it out on the Liberals. If PM MC keeps on his current trajectory, NOTHING will improve, not a fucking thing. That will set the country up to give the Liberals a mighty heave ho, and no get-out-jail card will save them.

I ask you why you think its "anger" and "bitter"? Have you noticed the tone of the CPC, the Bloc, the NDP and the Green Person (When she sobered up, she turned 180 against Carney and swore she would never support him again, whatever coming from Liz Boozey). Maybe, a huge chunk of the nation is beyond fed up?

I have to admit, I am comfortable, I can for now support myself but I am in my 50s. I dread what the kids in their teens, 20s and 30s have to look forward to.

Another thing you better grasps from this "angry and bitter" political commentator, The hard left greeny, hard left socialist, the hard left lefty (yeah I really said that) are seriously starting to look for a new alternative for their vote (they ain't so pro Carney anymore). I see the NDP possibly growing (the hard left see Carney as a middle of the road, slightly right Liberal).

The NDP will grow only when all those Unionized workers leave the Conservative Party under PP and move back to their traditional home.
The Conservatives will be only left with the bitter, discontent, disaffected and religious fringe.

The unionized workers who the NDP blames for raping all the indigenous women?

Which pollster do you most trust?
Not a single one unless they are fact checked on their sources.
I found multiple times where they had spread false information and refused to retract that Info. Ran their polls with that information to lean support for the liberals. They seemed to get a bit better after the information was passed onto a third party who investigated their sources.
Again polls are often slewed towards the way the person providing funds wants them to be through various means.

This is some seriously unhinged copium.

Rempal-Garner? Endorsed Patrick Brown last time around, publicly pushed back against WeF conspiracy nonsense. Only recently bent the knee to start singing from PP's songbook

Brock? Endorsed Charest against Poilievre. Another recent convert.

Baber? Ran against Poilievre, a little out there IMO but tonally and intelectually on a different level

Gunn/Genuis/Barett/Lantsman/Cooper- no real national credibility/weight outside of the algorithm trapped (funny enough pre PP coup Cooper endorsed Mckay in 2020, Barrett and Genuis both endorsed O'Toole)

And you know...those crazy people who think running $84B deficits annually ptobably isn't a good thing...

Or that maybe slowing down immigration for a few years until our societal infrastructure has caught up just to support our current population...

Or those super far right crazies that believe in less government & lower taxes + economic incentives for companies to set up shop here

But don't forget the religious far right, who actually believe the government should focus on removing illegal guns from being used by criminals, rather than confiscating them from law abiding, license holding citizens who haven't broken any laws.

(Careful here, these are the most unhinged bunch of imbred lunatics you'll ever hear about. Downright crazy!)

😉🍻
