Army Reserve Restructuring

What is the ES of both units? If low that could be the reason for it. Another reason could be that this is a measure towards the creation of the CARBs

Don't know about the Ontario Regiment, though I don't believe they're particularly small. The QoR are, I believe, the largest reserve unit (definitely for the infantry, and I think overall).

To an extent. Almost every unit in that brigade is being tactically grouped now. And it looks like every armoured unit is paired off with an infantry one.

It sets some ground work for the CARB concept coming.
Lincoln & Welland, Lorne Scots, and Tor Scots are all in the west (well, plus Etobicoke). No armour unit out that way, if there's long term plans for combined arms groupings (and army res expansion) then maybe GGHG can get a troop setup in either a LSR or TSR Armoury to expand opportunities for armour recruitment to the western half of the GTA and better accommodate grouping efforts. I suggest them because I think they only have the one location currently? There aren't enough infantry units for 1 to 1, so putting multiple units that are geographically close to each other would make sense to me. I'm also off doing a separate Class B and not currently involved in regular unit/brigade activities so I have no idea what's actually happening, even rumour wise.

If we're doing baby steps CARBs we could probably generate 2, understrength and terribly underequipped ones. One east and one west. Three very understrength ones (depending on what the intended structure is) since we seem to be including the Ontario Regiment.

Not terrible big for the ONT R. But they are being moved from 33CBG to 32CBG

Tactical groupings are done. Go look at the latest Ares CO and RSM appointments CANFORGEN for a glimpse.

Are the Service Battalions involved at all in these tactical groupings? Would it make any sense to have support sub-units at some combat arms armouries?

No because the plan for the CARBs is that eventually every unit will have its own admin coy. Service battalions with provide 1st and 2nd line support to the brigade and the CARBs
