I'm also getting the feeling he really didn't like what Jivani did earlier.

When asked whether he's considered going to Washington, Poilievre said he "always believed in the rule of one prime minister at a time."

He knows if he loses another election he’s done. There’s a real likelihood election now or soon would cement an LPC majority, and not by a seat or two.

If I was PP I wouldn't want an election right now either.

1) Time is not on PMMC or the LPCs side. And election with a landside victory for the LPC give them more of it. So PP needs to prolong this Gov.

2) He knows he's a cooked chicken if (when) he looses an election called with the current polling.

He really needs to figure out a message to sell to Canadians, not just the social Conservative base. To me it looks like he is floundering, Carney has ripped the carpet out from under him on most the common sense stuff, leaving him with only the social Conservative stuff, which doesn't sell well for most the country.

His best hope is for a resurgence of the NDP as the Liberals more more to the right, but they are so fractured it will likely be a election or two before they sort themselves out (if they even do).

He was the perfect counter to a PMJT. He did what he meant to do. Now he needs to get out of the way.

There is this little thing called rights which gets in the way of what your describing.

I'm aware of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

When I said politically ugly, I meant that any serious enforcement action taken will cause mass protest, civil disorder, violence and probably death in certain communities in Canada, regardless of how lawful or appropriate that enforcement action was. I've spent my entire career working in one of those communities, I have no doubt in my mind.

Even if I'm wrong, the party that kicks off that relationship with India and begins enforcement of that separatist community in Canada is playing a risky game as far as their political future is concerned.
