Replacing the Subs

Unless I am mistaken, some Canadian submariners are onboard for this deployment, so we are checking out the merchandise. Kind of hard to check the other proposed one: it doesn't exist yet.
since the entire advantage to a sub is its ability to disappear it is time to put the fleet to sea or perhaps a useful exercise for the CP140s

This would require a ship that could go to sea and participate in such an exercise.

They are sailing out of Pearl, the Americans might want some ping time? To see how the sub reacts, it's just as good and we have our submariners onboard to evaluate. (I know, we don't ping anymore ;))

No, a sub's advantage is coming into the area undetected. To "disappear" would mean that they had appeared, and once a sub does that nowadays, disappearing is quite a job and a trick.

At least not more than once…

Retired USN sonar operator’s assessment of the 212CD

I would honestly disregard Sub Brief almost entirely as a reliable source of information, he's guilty of a lot of Wikipedia/SeaForces regurgitation and has some pretty questionable political leanings which spill heavily into his work at times. To say they are a serial bullshitter who sometimes just makes things up is not off-base. He leans on his career to lend himself credibility, but has been caught multiple times getting things wrong that are public source directly related to his former profession. Countless black marks on his record like a pretty bogus Victoria class video putting up the same myths about a death trap submarine, a strange schizophrenic anti-AUKUS rant where he went off about how the program should be canceled because he effectively didn't like UK internal politics and worst of all, the one responsible for spreading the nonsense conspiracy theories about the USS Thresher's loss.

I'd steer clear of this guy if at all possible, not good content or quality of character.
