Speaking generally, there are times where the Government of Canada, faced with a problem, needs the situation to be investigated so that, across the various departments or agencies who may have skin in the game, the problem can be defined, understood fulsomely, and commonly seen by those in play. From there, there might be a variety of responses across the law enforcement/judicial, intelligence, military, financial/banking, legislative, regulatory, diplomatic, or other realms. Much, most, or even all of this may be out of view of us mere mortals. Doesn’t mean things aren’t happening.

Fair enough, the security apparatus usually doesnt make its actions public with these things. Though charges would quietly be public record in court.

At what point does he get kicked off the AB bar? A lot of these prominent separatists seem to have financial issues. How much you wanna bet he will claim he is being politically persecuted because of it?

Not saying this is looking rigged, but there sure are a lot of red flags here, also the UCP are having a results party on the 19th? like they seriously expect the results the same night from a ten question ballot?

While it is unlikely that there will be results for all ten questions on the day, "Question 10" (the separation question) will be counted first, so the unofficial result for that question should be available late in the evening. The time needed to get that count out would be more like a regular general election, which usually has most completed a few hours after polls close (2000 hrs).

Likely the margin will be distinct enough to allow it to be ‘called’ pretty promptly as we see with electoral ridings where the outcome becomes statistically effectively certain by a certain proportion of the count.

Yes, I'm aware. The votes cast on election day in the last Alberta provincial general election (2023) were counted by hand (advance vote used tabulators, but were, as per law, counted on election day). Federal elections are all counted by hand. The two elections I worked last year (Federal and Municipal) were hand counted; I have an inkling on how long it takes.
