This was day 1 of the advance polls.
Wonder what they will do on Monday if there are multi-hour lineups at close.

ALBERTA MEDIA ALERT
ALBERTA INDEPENDENCE HAS ALREADY WON! We have created a movement comprising hundreds of thousands of Albertans dedicated to Alberta taking her place among the community of nations as an Independent Country.
We have kept Alberta Independence in the national and international spotlight for over a year and a half while educating our fellow Albertans on the benefits of independence.
We have forced federal politicians to come to Alberta to help prove how Canadian federalism is failing Albertans.
We have forced a federalist provincial government to hold a vote on independence that will force a leadership change of the governing party of Alberta.
When hundreds of thousands of Albertans vote tomorrow for a binding vote on independence we will prove that we have created a political movement that will sustain itself until we achieve our goal of a free and independent Alberta.
The percentage vote is irrelevant because we have already won.
On Tuesday we move on to the next phase of our project. We dedicate ourselves and all of our volunteers to the replacement of the Federalist Smith as leader of the Alberta UCP. We will confirm that the UCP is Alberta’s leading Independence Party.
Regardless of the outcome tomorrow we have already won the first series of battles in the war for Alberta Independence. Please call all of your family and friends - make sure they all come out tomorrow to vote
QUESTION 10
OPTION 2
Unfortunate, but not unexpected.Rath and Co. already have set up their inevitable whining that the election was rigged, stolen, etc and now with him peddling conspiracies about Wainwright, there is a special place in hell for him, and I can't wait for him to disappear into irrelevance.
In all fairness, Jeffry Rath is the number one unintended advocacy AGAINST separation for Alberta. As soon as he speaks he comes across as bullish, obnoxious and irritating. You know I was once at a corporate counsel dinner in Vancouver where he sat at the table beside us. I’ve come to regret not cutting his tongue out with my steak knife.
Itll be interesting to see what his "advocacy" looks like behind bars with the walls closing in around him. Their admissions theyre going to try and capture the UCP is disturbing and hopefully would lead to their collapse prior to them being able to cause damage. In all fairness, Jeffry Rath is the number one unintended advocacy AGAINST separation for Alberta. I could see the UCP fall to seperatists and all the non seperatists of the party move to the Tory party. Essentially the opposite of what happened to the Tories when they were the AB party.Itll be interesting to see what his "advocacy" looks like behind bars with the walls closing in around him. Same reason 'mericans voted for trump.. Fill in your own pers dislike! Then why did Albertans vote for her?
Yeah, I'm kind of waiting for the "you shall wear a poopy vs thou shalt not wear a poppy" on uniforms before October 24th. I remember being at Nathan Cirillo's funeral being told to put a poppy on, and then being told five minutes later by someone else to take it off. That happened a couple times. I can't actually remember if I ended up wearing one or not. His funeral was a couple of days before the last Friday in October.I'm shortly out the door on the way to the counting location. The Advance voting stations were an interesting experience, but starting later today (and scheduled until 0400hrs) will start to see the sausage having been made. I closely followed the rules for election officers with regards to showing preference to one side or the other, not making comments or (during the voting) not wearing colours or symbols that could indicate a political stand. One thing I will do, that "may" violate those rules will be to wear a "Poppy". I speculate that someone will ask why, since we are not in the poppy campaign time frame. My answer, of course, will be "Wainwright". Let's see if anyone objects.

Where does that come from?Read this about that.
When to Wear a Poppy: October 24 to November 11
In 2026, wear a Poppy from the start of the Poppy Campaign on Saturday, October 24, until the end of Remembrance Day, Wednesday, November 11. The Legion encourages the wearing of Poppies at funerals of Veterans, and for any commemorative event such as a memorial service, or the anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. As well, it is not inappropriate to wear a Poppy during other times to commemorate Fallen Veterans and it is an individual choice to do so.

The lapel Poppy should be worn during the Remembrance period, from October 24 until November 11. The Legion encourages the wearing of Poppies at funerals of Veterans, and for any commemorative event such as a memorial service, or the anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.
I know theres some flexibility with poppies in uniform. The FGH for example wear poppies at the Cambrai Dinner the weekend on or after 20 Nov. Similar sort of affair as the Moreuil Wood commemorations for the LdSH(RC).Yeah, I'm kind of waiting for the "you shall wear a poopy vs thou shalt not wear a poppy" on uniforms before October 24th.
