Regarding the taser,

The challenge with any less-than-lethal option is their impact can range from completely ineffective to actually lethal in some circumstances.

I've heard of Police saying eyewitnesses can be notoriously unreliable.

But , according to one ,

The officer unsuccessfully fires the stun gun before the firefighter uses a metal bar to knock him out.

Something about baton twirling I find appealing. ( Long as I'm not on the business end of one. )

My wife and I watched a village miscreant get OC'd and cuffed at the end of our driveway on a holiday Monday morning. The winds were favourable for us and our morning patio coffee was uninterrupted by the show.

In my case it was all duty related.

Does DOMTAR still make the place stink ?

Domtar has been closed for over 20 years. Locals used to say that was "the smell of $30/hour" back in the late 20th century. I lived outside of the city and out of the "stink belt" so it wasn't a problem for us. There is a plan to redevelop the remaining brownfields.

As the old joke goes: 'kiss me where it smells' - so I drove her to Cornwall (or Dryden, or Espanola, or Terrace Bay . . . ). Most places had the sense to not build the townsite on the lee side of the plant, but not all.
