The Remembrance Day ceremony closest to my home at my last posting always irritated me. There was little mention of remembrance, other that to talk about the soldiers that sacrificed in God's name, as if the soldiers fought only because God told them to. The ceremony might have well been a...
It is interesting to note, that Quebec's own budget document lists federal transfers as $29B, and their own income as $115B. Why the discrepancy? Did they just count the equalization payments? http://www.finances.gouv.qc.ca/Budget_and_update/budget/documents/AUTEN_SummaryMarch2023.pdf
I was informed through two sources, one being the CM, that they are having problems with BGRS and the majority of posting messages may not be out until next week.
Sometimes there are reasons for not allowing POMV. It used to be an issue in Gagetown, when the reserves did a summer concentration at the end of the IT cycle. The plan was for all of the vehicles that were EMO'ed in for IT, be driven back to their home units by the reservists that were...

Treasury Board has approved the General Pay Increase (GPI) for members of the CAF retroactive to 1 Apr 2014. DMPAP will have the retro pay calculated and applied to all CAF members pay in time to appear on...
Besides barely keeping up with inflation, this raise also didn't keep up with the PSAC bargaining unit that we usually benchmark against. The Services bargaining unit contains most of the comparative civilian trades. They received the 1.25% a year, but also got additional raises. For example...
New Update. 100%
As of 30 May 2014, the PIL Team has completed the audit of 100% of all received files. Contact your orderly room so they can determine the status of your file. Please do not contact the PIL team directly.
Once the PIL team completes the audit, the file is returned for payment...
I have a few questions about the high readiness NO postings. My wife is posted to 1 Cdn Fld Hosp Det Edmonton this fall, but we don't have a lot of details about the detachment, so:
1. What civilian hospital do they work at?
2. Do they work on their own, or is it similar to CPT where they...
Definitely true. All of the people contacting them must slow them down, however they could have mitigated that somewhat at the beginning by providing the updates that they now provide on the PiL site. Odds are that very few people would have contacted them at all, until the first few tried and...
As of last year, I know of at least one person that completed the Accelerated Program at UNB under ROTP. They usually don't like it, however, since you cannot complete BMOQ during the summers, and they may make you sign papers stating that you will repay them for your schooling if you fail BMOQ...
You applied as an NCM, but one of your choices was "engineering/ mechanical engineer"? I'm assuming you mean Electrical Mechanical Engineer, and that's an officer occupation.
Latest update from PiL site:
The PIL Team has been fully operational for some months now and has received over 45,000 files to be audited. Audits have been completed on 20,572 files comprised of both Regular Force and Reserve Force.
Files are being audited based on the date the file has been...
Bad news for that estimate. That update was actually Oct 7 at 15,246. October 15 update was just a link to Windows 7 SOP. So they averaged approx 1000 a week.
I haven't the justification for why the change, but I'm assuming they were using the standard military way of calculating the daily rate as (month pay/30). So for a month with 31 days(daily rate X 31), that was an extra day of pay, when instead is should have been (monthly pay/31) for the daily...
I don't have much faith in their calculations anyway. I took 3 weeks of PATA, and it appears I am having 1 days pay recovered. How do they figure that I was paid for 31 days when I only took 21 days?
