We are feeling the effects. Our population has risen somewhat significantly in the last two months. A lot are on remand, playing the waiting game.

Again it plays to what I’ve been saying is happening in southern Ontario- they are taking votes from the NDP.

My union voted to support the local Conservative candidate in the election, and as a Steelworkers union that is traditionally very strong NDP territory.

I don’t think there is any disputing Poliviere's stance. It's been clear and concise since the very beginning, even before the election anytime it was mentioned in the House.
Yet we have carney vehemently accusing Poliviere of the opposite and going against the constitution to do it. Not even trying to be coy or slippery in his words. Just flat out lying in plain old french. What’s wrong with this guy and his constant lying?

My dad would tell you that the federal prisons are bursting at the seams. He is an interesting confluence of political ideals and beliefs.

However, which level of government builds/runs most (admittedly, not all) of the jail space? Not everyone ends up doing federal time.
And if jails are too crowded, how much less time are “guests” spending in jail (or being kept outta custody) because “sorry, no room at the inn”?
Any party platforms out there big on sending mo’ money to the provinces/territories to build more jail space? I haven’t heard any such promises but I stand to be corrected.
Another one of those federation problems (like health care) where, to mangle the proverb, failure often has more than one parent.

Partially. Justices of the Superior and Appellate courts are federally appointed (I believe the province pays them) but, as pointed out, the majority of the load on the justice system is at the lower levels which are provincially appointed, which also funds the infrastructure, support staff, etc.

In the final ballot tracking by Nanos Research for this federal election campaign, the Liberals have a three-point cushion over the Conservatives the night before voters head to the polls.

Interesting little shift showing NDP votes coming back to them from the LPC. This could be the week that sees the LPC lead shrink. The cold feet thing I mentioned previously.
This could end up being a fight for minority status between the LPC and CPC.

Interesting tactic on Blanchet’s part. And looks like he’s lowering expectations and hoping to be the balance of power for the LPC. I guess as a regional party he can afford to do that.

Case in point: heard a radio spot for this multiple times across multiple different stations in the last week.
Plain abject fear mongering by those of means, using disinformation so that they can use the electoral mass of those without to make needed reform too toxic to consider.
That said, the next majority voting block are Millenials. They will outnumber boomers soon. They also feel they have been screwed over and will likely be coming for what they will feel is their share.Case in point: heard a radio spot for this multiple times across multiple different stations in the last week.

Interesting that I can’t watch the CTV video down here. Haven’t seen that issue before.

I don't use a VPN for my personal devices as my wife tends to freak out when my locations jumps all around
Out at NTTR for ISOF I had to put a phone on a USG Satellite wifi - and she freaked out when it appeared I was in Poland, she figured I was going all Bourne Supremacy or something...
