With the G7 summit in AB, parts of 3 div deployed, on top of normal summer training starting up, we are in the perfect storm of a bad situation if a request for federal support comes in.

It is the most ignorant, uncooperative, loudest, fire breathing collection of nuts, bolts, blades and duct tape in the Okanagan.

That's pretty normal, until they're in danger of burning to a crisp at which point they make themselves heard

To be fair, many of them are in that danger winter, spring, summer and fall. Hot weather or hot temper, one or the other starts a fire.

Google Earth shows the city has a good wild fire break/perimeter. Hopefully it serves its purpose well.

Swan Hills, AB actually doesn't have much of break. Nice enough town just in a bad location to be protected from fires due to being dead center in the forest.

Also in AB - Loon River Reserve, Trout Lake First Nation, Chip Lake Reserve evacuated. Peers evacuated tonight. Mercoal and Chatah on alert.

Not a good few days.

Worst part is Manitoba is getting hit worse. And Saskatchewan and NW Ontario aren't exactly happy either. Could be a long summer.
