To be fair, many of them are in that danger winter, spring, summer and fall. Hot weather or hot temper, one or the other starts a fire.That's pretty normal, until they're in danger of burning to a crisp at which point they make themselves heard

Swan Hills, AB actually doesn't have much of break. Nice enough town just in a bad location to be protected from fires due to being dead center in the forest.
Also in AB - Loon River Reserve, Trout Lake First Nation, Chip Lake Reserve evacuated. Peers evacuated tonight. Mercoal and Chatah on alert.
Not a good few days.
Worst part is Manitoba is getting hit worse. And Saskatchewan and NW Ontario aren't exactly happy either. Could be a long summer.

He’s one of the best Canada’s got right now. Hopefully he outgrows the provincial NDP and moves federally; I’d like to see him have a real shot at influencing important stuff. He absolutely could be PM material if the stars align- but that won’t be with NDP obviously.

it aint pretty in AB, and we are at the tail end of a heat wave right now, 58 fires, 34 out of control, a gain of 8 in the last 12h alone. With the G7 going on, we are going to be in a pickle for people and equipment if we get a RFA in June.
