A Deeply Fractured US

Ok, so if in fact they disarmed and then shot (11+ times in two separate engagements), a white, male, U.S. citizen, V.A. nurse, who was lawfully carrying a permitted pistol… Yeah. This ain’t going away quickly.

Does he say in the video that it's to counter ICE? I don't think it even COULD work that way. More likely he's deploying the national guard because he foresees the people devolving into complete pandemonium and lawlessness over this.
He says assisting local police, and he talked about the state needing to take control of the investigation for federal authorities not being trusted to investigate the shooting.

Kinda like when someone wears a short skirt - they get what is coming to them....
You just didn't say that??

Nice try, but no. Concealed carry is legal in Minnesota so nothing wrong with a person carrying as they go about their business. However, while legal I think that common sense would suggest that if you are planning on confronting armed law enforcement officers...the same officers that are regularly physically accosting other protesters then maybe having a handgun concealed on your person might significantly increase the risk of something bad happening.

Who was "confronting" whom here?

Here in Canada too, there are people fetishizing a US annexation so they can carry guns here and will unashamedly blame the US citizen for possessing a gun in this incident.

Interesting point of view.

Kristi said "an agent's finger was bitten off".

Yeah - not my finest moment to be sure
I'm pretty sure we all know the spirit in which you offered the original comment, and its fine.

P.S. I was just on the phone earlier today with my sister, who happens to live in a suburb of Minneapolis, about 12 miles from downtown. She says it's fairly quiet at her place, but it is mostly white suburb, but totally crazy in the core. She says, ICE stops everybody on the basis of profiling. For instance, one of their secretary was arrested until she could prove citizenship. That secretary is American Native and the only basis of interception was the colour of her skin. My sister also said that the disproportion between the number of ICE agents going around and the number of Police officers from the city force makes it look like a bloody occupation of downtown.

Man, if this shooting has you feeling a little awful, then do NOT go into the r/conservative subreddit and read their responses/take on this event. It won't be good for your mental health...

Last video, because it pretty much shows everything. Not only can you clearly see grey jacket remove Alex Pretti's firearm from it's holster, you can also see green shirt next to him watch it happen and proceed to shoot him (first shooter) anway.

A warning, it's a very clear video.

I need a stiff drink.

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

I don’t care who you are. That was completely unjustified.

Did these goons leave before the ambulance arrived too?

I had two brand new coppers on the backside of a residence stop and challenge an armed murder suspect fleeing a TAC team with a gun in his waistband and then his hand. They did an awesome job in the dark in an unfriendly apartment block. At the time I didn’t give them the credit I should have because I was under the impression that this was the expectation. Now I know better.

Then there is this. This agency is an absolute clown show.

I went to take a look. This was the "top comment" and "best comment" across 2100 comments.

This doesn't look good on ICE. It almost seems like they disarmed him, a gun was misfired immediately after someone yells he has a gun. Then the other officers just started firing. There should be a full investigation and any officers who acted outside the law, or even on the line, should be put in front of a jury.

The reasoning in the orders doesn't really matter at this point. The Governor of a state is activating the state NG in response to the excesses of federal agents in his state. Regardless of whether they are there to protect the locals, or reign-in the feds, the likelihood of things getting out of hand has just increased significantly.
