A question about university

I was wondering, when does the reserves pay for your university?

I am planning on going to university at some point in my life and I want to know, when do I become eligible for the benefits of having the army pay for my university? How long do I have to be in the reserves for?

From what I understand, it doesnt matter how long you've been in. You have to pay for university upfront, and at the end of it you submit your claim to the CF and they'll give you some money back... up to 2000$ a year.

If you parade regularly through the academic year, the military will reimburse you $2000 a year, to a maximum of $8000 over 4 years. You submit the claim after each year is complete, no money is given up front.

It's not meant to be.  It's meant as an incentive to reservists who attend regularly, as sort of a gratuity for their time.  The $2000 on top of your pay is still pretty nice.  Unfortunately, I only got to take advantage of it for one year as an undergrad, though I still have $6,000 I can apply for if I go back to school.  The lifetime maximum is $8,000.
