All Things AB Separatism (split fm Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???)

Only because Smith wants it moot. Forever Canada should get their vote first. A no vote for that doesnt trigger separation, but a yes vote woukd shut down separation. Smith cant have that, she needs separation right now politically to hold onto her own job
Thats why it’s moot. A vote either way does not enable any follow on action. Its pointless. The independence vote can trigger follow on action, and a no vote on that will achieve what forever canada set out to do anyway.

Instead of blaming some Albertans for their use of the voter registrations, I would imagine if Elections Canada were doing their jobs, the voter registry would be secured and unobtainable, to those without clearance or legal need.
Elections Alberta administers the provincial voter rolls, and they were released to provincial parties under the provisions of provincial law. The leak of the voter rolls to the Centurion Project is a provincial matter.

OK, Elections Alberta, mea culpa.

This is just plain embarrassing for Smith. Like others have said here perhaps it is time for her and the UCP to take a side. Playing stupid and turning a blind eye to the clearly separatist members of the party is a terrible look, because this is exactly the kind of stuff that will continue happening.

The ANDP were correct in going directly to Elections Alberta and the RCMP to report this massive breach of privacy, this crime instead of acting as a babysitter to sweep the UCP's mess under a rug.

Talk about DARVO.

Plenty of similar downplaying when foreign interference concerns came up at the federal level. People are more incensed over it happening when it's not their political camp at ground zero, less when it is.

I'm sure Smith's detractors will have no issue with her bussing in US students to vote for whatever.

Some folks reaction here is 100% just a manifestation of their own political biases. And I suspect regional too.

I continue to maintain that Canada really and truly only exists from Windsor Ont to Rivière-du-Loup. The rest of us should just be happy we get free healthcare.

Let them fight, sure. But within the rules. I doubt mr Julian would let one seven grader smash another seven grader in the face with a rock.

If these folks cannot do their referendum within the confines of the rules, too had for them, they deserve their pathetic little hissy fit thrown out until they can do it properly.

Rules are rules,laws are laws.

Your use of pejoratives speak volumes.

Rules are rules and laws are laws...

Using lawfare to not let this vote happen is not good for unity or democracy. For some reason the left does not understand that you when the pressure gets high you are better off to have a controlled bleed off than a catastrophic release.
