Good luck I guess. She knows there's clearly quite a few considering the lengths she went to avoid doing what the Forever Canadian petition was asking originally, which was for MLA's to go on public record and make their individual stance on the topic clear.

You just wait until the Nov UCP convention when Rath and his separatist minions try to seize control of the party from Smith and take Alberta where they want, referendum results be damned.

Is this Rath thinking this will keep him out of jail and able to go to the US? WIth the way things are going he won't be allowed across the border as a felon if he tried immigrating.

That’s hilarious. Where was that moral clarity before Monday? She spends the time before the referendum coddling separatists and putting her thumb on the scales for them, and is now wrapping herself in the Maple Leaf and declaring herself Captain Canuck? She deserves to be ripped apart by both sides of her party and cast to the dustbin of history.

I'm now waiting for her to announce (assuming this new party has any traction) that she'll be running for the head of this new party.
If it's a non starter I suspect that she just give everyone a look and wonder what
"they're talking about?"
I honestly don't think I've seen a politician since MacKenzie-King who can manage to be on both sides of an issue.

Smith is a pragmatist. A new separatist party will have little political chance. Her best bet is driving separatists out of the UCP and drawing back voters who may hold their nose and vote NDP in rebuke of the coddling of separatists. But it’ll sure as hell be a fight for who gets to steer the next year of the UCP.
