Applying out of country

Hi Folks,

New to the board but a few questions. I am currently living abroad. I will be back in Canada in November. Going to live out West for a bit, then I want to move out East not 100 percent where in May 2014. So the question is I have seen some reserve jobs open that I am interested in, should I apply for those now or  wait until I am living in the city where the positions are open. I am only interested in the Reserve at this point. Basically I want to know if it would make sense to start the process now or wait until May.

How competitive is it to get into the Naval Reserves? This is important to me due to the fact I will be relocating i.e city that would offer the best/most opportunity. Or does that not matter?

I'm not sure about the RCN, for the Army Reserves you must secure signed documents from the actual unit (SOU), and from recruiting center. So you should probably wait until your settled down, and as for competitiveness I have no idea.
