Correct. While some of his weapon handling left a little bit to be desired - the point was made that he found a (sample size of one) Sig P320 that would Self ND if the slide was moved downwards, and this was shown repeatedly.

This was a known issue on the earlier guns - and why the whole MIM'd rounded parts on the fire control are an awful idea especially on a fully cocked striker gun like the Sig P320 - as the sear linkage could be interrupted by the slide being moved downward - such as holstering - or being bumped - and causing a discharge.

My P226 shoots great. I wouldn't trust grunts with care and cleaning of a 226, they seem a little fragile for the old milk create treatment.


Taking a loaded and readied pistol off and putting it on a table, seemingly pointing at someone, isn't a wise move.

Crazy idea - we could stop throwing pistols in milk crates and teach people to care for the equipment.

Interestingly the CAF has issued an advisory message stating that the C22 is only to be used with the issued BlackHawk T Series holster. I am pretty sure it’s not usable with an optic and definitely it’s not WML compatible.

I would be interested to see exactly what the Vandoo snipers are using for holsters here, given they seem to have mounted the RMRs from their rifles onto the C22s and one guy is running a WML.

The Blackhawk T series of holsters have a large range. From ones that got inspired by the SERPA ( which was banned by DoD and US DOJ and DHS ) to a number of models that have accommodations for WML and MRDS.

There are some absolutely garbage T series models and some decent ones.

I find it appalling that the T series was specifically called out as opposed to specific models - but again the entire LCMM Small Arms and DLR 5-5 folks have never impressed.

I’d put money on them being carried in the empty mag shingles they have on their vests. Or this is a static range and they didn’t bother to grab holsters as the shooting program doesn’t require them and actively discourages training the draw as part of engaging.

The issue T series are neither optic compatible nor WML compatible.
You can see it at the 1:09 time stamp in that video of the Danish competition.

To add, the advisory doesn’t identify Blackhawk or the T series. It just states the C22 is only to be carried in the issued holster. I doubt many know it’s Blackhawk let alone T series nor which specific model.

While I agree with you, we should probably teach our pers to actually shoot with rifles first. After that we can worry about pistols.

There’s actually some really strong arguments to do the complete opposite and build fundamentals on the much harder to shoot pistol to make shooting the rifle very easy. That said the fact that we’re talking about using pistols in a thread about pistols probably makes sense.
