A suicide bombing attack on a Canadian military convoy has left three soldiers wounded and an Afghan boy dead.

The attack occurred Sunday in Kandahar city.

A Canadian Forces spokesman said the three soldiers were taken to the hospital at Kandahar airfield for treatment. The extent of their injuries hasn't been revealed yet.

An Afghan police officer said two other boys were wounded.

An Associated Press reporter said one military vehicle at the scene appeared to be damaged.

Minutes after that attack, a bomb attached to a bicycle detonated in another part of Kandahar city, but reportedly caused no injuries.

In a separate incident, a U.S. soldier died Sunday in the western province of Farah, the U.S. military said in a statement.

The operation with Afghan forces had targeted a Taliban hideout. Two Afghan police and several militants also died in the incident.

With files from The Associated Press
Speedy recovery to the injured, and RIP to the child who was killed.

On the CBC news a few minutes ago, they reported that four soldiers were injured. Regardless, I am saddened that an Afghan boy died and that more of our troops were injured, but also relieved that no troops died in this attack.

The injured troops are reported to be in good condition and will be back to work shortly. :salute:

It pisses me off that the ignorance of these 'taliban' fighters are hurting the people helping them - not to mention the civilians.  :threat:

RIP for that poor boy, kinda puts things in prospective with everyone blaming just the armed forces for endangering civilians....
